What you'll accomplish
Create consistent groups that remain readable on the canvas, in totals, and in quote lines.
Steps
- Select an item or group and replace the generic label in Inspector.
- Assign an existing or CSI-oriented category when it helps downstream review.
- Keep Auto color or choose a deliberate override.
- Rename, collapse, or delete groups where appropriate, then confirm count and quantity before export.
What to expect
- Items with the same label appear together in the Items dock and document totals.
- Rename re-derives only automatic color; explicit overrides survive.
- Group edits and multi-selection edits are one undoable command.
- Collapse all changes list presentation only; it does not alter plan geometry or exported scope.
Good to know
BuildVision AI does not currently expand groups into labor or material components, apply assembly formulas, or maintain an assembly library.
