Start a takeoff
Choose one PDF in Projects, send it to an existing project or create a project from the PDF, then follow it through upload, preparation, and opening.

What you'll accomplish
Create or choose a project, upload its first PDF, and enter the prepared takeoff.
Steps
- Choose Start a takeoff on Projects and select one PDF.
- Choose an existing project destination or New project from PDF; the PDF name seeds the new project name and can be edited.
- Follow Creating project, Uploading plan, Preparing takeoff, and Opening editor progress instead of leaving the flow.
- After the editor opens, calibrate measured pages and begin AI or manual review.
What to expect
- The launchpad accepts one PDF at a time; add PDF, PNG, or JPEG plan files from an existing project folder when that separate upload path is appropriate.
- Projects also shows Last takeoffs, pins, tags, Shared with you, active/archived filters, and paginated results.
- Project folders expose Plans, Takeoffs, Quotes, totals, collaborators, tags, pin, share, and archive controls according to access.
