What you'll accomplish
Start a job and move its output into explicit review states.
Steps
- Wait for the top-bar save state, then choose Run AI takeoff for the document and read stage/page progress.
- For targeted symbol search, select a named count and choose Search more, or use Search more on an eligible EA symbol in Legend.
- Use the canvas feedback and notification bell to follow the run, including plan-wide completion or no-match results.
- Review dashed pending matches by group or selection; accept correct work and dismiss incorrect work.
What to expect
- A second job cannot start while a document job is active.
- Failed jobs surface once in the editor error strip with their attributed error.
- AI detections use the same count, linear, and area geometry model as manual items.
- A fresh drawn count can receive a high-confidence suggested name and alternatives before targeted search.
- Automatic count naming fills only at 84% confidence or higher and can show its source plus up to three alternatives; typing a name always remains available.
- Whole-plan legend search requires an active EA symbol with a stored template, skips the legend source page, and is limited to 99 pages.
- Re-traced and near-coincident linework—within about three real inches at page scale—counts once automatically; parallel lines drawn farther apart both count inside a single run.
Good to know
BuildVision AI does not currently collapse wide parallel line pairs—a symbol drawn as two lines more than about three real inches apart can inflate one run's footage. Replace that run with a manual Linear trace, or correct the quantity on the quote line.
