Save State, Undo, and Redo
Use undo and redo for editor changes, and watch the separate Saved, Saving, or Save failed state to confirm cloud saving.
See it in BuildVision AI
Save state
Show saved, saving, and failed states while keeping work visible and letting you retry without losing it.
- Visible save status
- Unsaved-work warning
- Retry failed saves
What you'll accomplish
Use undo and redo correctly and distinguish edit history from cloud save status.
Steps
- Use Undo or the standard shortcut to reverse the last editor command; use Redo for the reversed command.
- Watch Saved or Saving in the top bar to follow cloud save progress.
- When Save failed appears, click Retry; keep the visible work on screen until saving succeeds.
- Read the error strip when a rejected write needs a different corrective action.
What to expect
- Naming, category/color changes, review decisions, geometry commits, and deletes enter the command flow.
- Duplicate and copy/paste create editable objects; undo and redo remain separate from cloud save status.
- Viewport pan/zoom is not takeoff history and does not create item commands.
- BuildVision AI warns before you leave while changes are still waiting to save.
Good to know
BuildVision AI does not currently include named snapshots, a version timeline, version comparison, partial restore, or restore from history.
