Steps
- Open Quotes and choose New quote.
- Select Blank quote or one of the active templates; template cards disclose default state, section count, and item count.
- For Blank quote, enter a title; for a template, keep or override its default title. Customer and email remain optional.
- Review copied sections and rows and customize the new draft for this job.
What to expect
- Template creation copies the saved starting structure into a new quote; the template itself is not edited in this flow.
- The /quotes/templates/:id address points users back to New quote rather than opening a template editor.
- Takeoff and calculator creation remain separate valid ways to start quote scope.
Good to know
The current web app can select existing active templates but does not include template authoring, reusable block editing, variables, or a separate template-management gallery.
