Loading BuildVision AI
BuildVision AI turns PDF plan sets into a reviewable first pass of counts and measurements. Estimators inspect the drawing evidence, correct the scope, organize quantities, apply company pricing and labor assumptions, and produce a client-ready quote.

Blueprint takeoff, defined
AI takeoff software helps an estimator find repeated plan symbols and measurable drawing geometry without separating the result from its source. In BuildVision AI, the first pass appears on the plan canvas as reviewable work. Pending detection groups rise to the top so the estimator can accept useful marks, dismiss the wrong ones, and inspect the drawing before a quantity moves forward.
The AI pass is only one part of the takeoff. The same editor includes manual count, line, polyline, area, and rectangle tools; scale calibration; sheet navigation; item naming; CSI categorization; and undo or redo. That combination matters when notes, details, unusual symbols, or scope outside the visible marks require estimator input instead of another automated guess.
AI with visible evidence
Process plan sheets, legends, schedules, scale information, and visible drawing geometry as one estimating input.
Create a first pass of symbols, lengths, areas, and other plan quantities without hiding where each result came from.
Use visible drawing evidence to verify detections, correct quantities, and add specification-driven or concealed scope.
Move reviewed takeoff items into CSV or editable quote lines, then apply the contractor’s own rates, assumptions, and terms.
Input and output contract
Open a current PDF, move through its sheets, and use the sheet index to review page labels, thumbnails, counts, and pending AI states. The estimator still confirms which issue, addendum, and sheets control the bid.
Supported drawing images can be opened in the takeoff editor when the source is not a PDF. Readable linework and a known measurement basis remain important; an image file does not make an unclear drawing complete.
Legends, schedules, keyed notes, sections, and details help the estimator interpret detected symbols and geometry. BuildVision AI keeps marks linked to the sheet, but it does not decide design intent or specification scope.
Accepted AI marks and manually added work remain editable. Rename items, organize them with CSI categories, and keep dismissed suggestions available for review without allowing them into approved totals.
Roll counts, calibrated lengths, and calibrated areas up by label across the loaded pages. When a page cannot be collected, BuildVision AI discloses incomplete coverage instead of presenting a silent partial total.
Export a complete-document CSV containing every takeoff row with its source and review state, or create editable quote lines from accepted AI and manual items. Quote pricing, tax, discounts, validity, customer details, exclusions, and commercial approval remain separate estimator decisions.
Estimator-led workflow
Speed matters only when the result remains reviewable, complete, and commercially owned by the estimator.
Start with the issued PDF drawings and identify the sheets, revisions, and trade scope included in the bid.
BuildVision AI identifies visible items and measurable geometry, keeping the result connected to the source sheet.
Check legends, schedules, details, scale, addenda, exclusions, and confidence areas before quantities become priceable scope.
Apply current company costs, labor, waste, overhead, and markup, then prepare the quote for final approval and delivery.
Focused workflows
Blueprint-to-takeoff workflow
Upload an existing construction drawing set and generate a reviewable first-pass takeoff. BuildVision AI identifies visible symbols and geometry, then keeps the estimator in control of corrections, scope, pricing, and final output.
Electrical takeoff workflow
Use AI for a reviewable first pass of visible electrical devices and equipment, then complete estimator-chosen routes with calibrated manual tools. Legends, schedules, risers, one-lines, details, specifications, code, labor, and pricing remain explicit review steps before export or quoting.
Common questions
AI takeoff software uses computer vision and document analysis to identify visible plan elements and measurable geometry. A construction estimator reviews the results, adds scope the drawings do not express directly, and applies the company’s cost assumptions.
No. It proposes plan-linked counts and measurements for review, while an estimator still interprets notes, schedules, specifications, addenda, means and methods, labor, pricing, exclusions, and risk.
The editor opens construction plan PDFs and supported plan images. Multi-page PDFs include page navigation and a sheet index. AI results depend on the visible drawing, while legends, schedules, details, specifications, and the current revision remain part of the estimator’s review.
Yes. Accepted AI items and manual takeoff work can become editable quote lines. The estimator completes company pricing, labor, waste, overhead, markup, exclusions, customer details, and commercial terms before sharing or sending the quote.
Yes. Pending detection groups can be accepted or dismissed individually or in bulk. The estimator can also add manual counts and measured geometry, rename work, assign CSI categories, choose labels, and use undo or redo while completing the takeoff.
Use the current issued plan set, identify its revision and included sheets, and reconcile every addendum before approving totals. Do not assume an AI first pass compares drawing issues, resolves conflicting notes, or decides which changed scope belongs in the bid.
Document totals and exports collect every page before presenting a complete result. If a page cannot be loaded, BuildVision AI states the coverage gap. Measured items also require a verified scale before their real-world quantities are suitable for export or quoting.
CSV exports every takeoff row with its source and review state. Quote creation uses accepted AI and manual items only. Neither output turns a plan into a CAD model, engineers an assembly, or supplies current market pricing automatically.
